Socotra, an island lost in time

Socotra is the main island of an isolated archipelago in the middle of the Indian Ocean. But it's almost like alien territory in the middle of planet Earth.

The archipelago is 240 kilometers from the African continent and has 800 rare species of plants and animals. Due to Socotra's geographical isolation, one third of these species cannot be found anywhere else on the globe. Among them are some types of dragon trees, these exotic trees with their branches all facing upwards.
