One of the main reasons alleged by those who are overweight for not going to the gym is to feel intimidated by exercising among a lot of fit people.
But if it depends on Downsize Fitness, that excuse no longer sticks. At the Chicago academy, only those who need to lose at least 22 pounds (50 pounds) can enroll. That is, no one feels “different” there: all students are after the same goal.
According to the owner, Kishan Shah, the goal is to serve people who are not looking for a perfect body but just to get healthier. For this, training is focused mainly on functional gymnastics.
Oh, and if you're wondering, Downsize Fitness lets students keep going after losing weight. No one is sent away for overcoming obesity.
