Eating is an art

Art interests me, even more related to the theme I like to talk about, which is food. The exhibition “Food: Reflections on Mother Earth, Agriculture and Nutrition” begins this Thursday in São Paulo.

The show, which will take place at Sesc Pinheiros, from 02/20 to 04/05, brings together a variety of programs, with the exhibition of artistic works, videos and lectures that focus on food. But not only what we see on the table. The theme covers both the preservation of “Mother Earth” and our food choices, proposing reflections on the effects of climate change, contamination of agricultural products, disparities in food distribution and hunger.

The multimedia exhibition is designed and curated by Adelina von Fürstenberg, director of the NGO Art for The World. And brings installations, paintings, photography, sculptures and videos by the artists Anna Maria Maiolino (Brazil), Angelo Plessas (Greece), Barthélémy Toguo (Cameroon / France), Eduardo Srur (Brazil), Ernesto Neto (Brazil), Lenora de Barros ( Brazil), Marina Abramovic (Serbia), Martand Khosla (India), Mircea Cantor (Romania / France), Miralda (Spain), Nari Ward (United States), Pipilotti Rist (Switzerland), Raghubir Singh (India), Shimabuko (Japan) ), Stefano Boccalinni (Italy) and Ymane Fakhir (Morocco).

For the interest of the theme, the programming has caught the attention of everyone. Same. The show has already been exhibited in Switzerland and, after passing through São Paulo, goes to Marseille, France. Enjoy, admission is free. How about another schedule in Sao Paulo? Check here the exhibition that is on display at the Brazilian House Museum.
