Apple pie is a popular recipe among many cultures.
With sugar, flour, cream filling and candied fruit, it's hard to find the ones you don't like.
But traditional delicacy can set up a calorie bomb.
To avoid overdoing it and valuing its attributes, I created a lightweight version.
And with an ingredient as prosaic as pastry dough.
So there's frying, you might have thought.
None of that - the pastry is versatile and looks great in the oven.
The following recipe is ready in 40 minutes.
And yields two portions, with 139.3 Kcal each.
1 thin sliced apple
1 sheet of small pastry dough
½ Lemon Juice
½ tablespoon honey
Cinnamon to taste
Preheat oven to 150º C.
Put the dough on a parchment paper.
With a fork, drill holes through the dough and set aside.
Cut the apple into thin slices.
In a bowl, add the apple and the lemon juice.
Arrange the apple slices over the batter.
Sprinkle cinnamon powder and drizzle with honey.
Bake for 20 minutes, or until dough is golden and crispy.
